Nepal’s Coronavirus Update #7 from NRNA

  • Coronavirus kills 128 Nepalis worldwide

The number of Nepalis dying outside of Nepal has reached 121 by Saturday evening (May 30, 2020) due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) infection that has spread like an epidemic all over the world.

According to the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Health Committee, seven more Nepalis have lost their lives to Coronavirus this week. According to the association, one Nepali died in the UAE, one in the UK, one in the US, two in Bahrain, one in Kuwait and one in Saudi Arabia this week.

According to the figures compiled by the Union Health Committee, 66 non-resident Nepalis have died in the UK. According to Dr. Sanjeev Sapkota, NRNA’s Health Committee Coordinator, 19 Nepalis have died in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). 

The death toll from the Coronavirus in the United States has risen to 17, with eight in Saudi Arabia, three in Bahrain, two in Kuwait, one in Qatar, one in Ireland, one in Japan, one in Turkey and one in the Netherlands. One person has died in Sweden.

According to coordinator Dr. Sapkota, apart from Nepal, 14,425 non-resident Nepalis have been infected with the Coronavirus.This week has seen new infections among Nepalis in Denmark and Turkey.

According to the committee, Nepalis in 34 countries; Qatar, USA, UAE, UK, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Malaysia, Turkey, Denmark, Portugal, Canada, Ireland, Maldives, Spain, Australia, Japan, Belgium, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Cyprus, New Zealand, Hong Kong. , India, Malta, Poland, Russia, France, Myanmar, Romania, Sweden, the Netherlands, have been infected by the Coronavirus.

According to Dr. Sapkota, more than 4,500 Nepalis have recovered from the Coronavirus.
